The following error message might be written to the SAS^® log when you attempt to create graphics output or when you attempt to print output from the SAS^® Output window:

Write access violation task name.

The error is followed by trace information that looks similar to the following:

The following error might also be written to the SAS log:

ERROR:  An exception has been encountered.

The error occurs when SAS cannot locate any Windows system printers at start-up.

To circumvent the problem, add the following statement to the top of your SAS code:

options printerpath=pdf;
