Problem Note 52086: The Ratemaking node results might be incorrect if the target is binary, or a "binary target is not supported ..." error is displayed
SAS Enterprise Miner releases prior to 13.1
The Ratemaking node in SAS® Enterprise Miner™ enables you to model a binary target. However, the predicted values (the two P_ variables that contain posterior probabilities) might be incorrect. In addition, the imputed value when inputs are missing can sometimes use the prior
probability from the wrong level.
There are no errors or warnings to indicate a problem.
There is no workaround.
To avoid encountering the problem, do not use the Ratemaking node to model a binary target. Instead, use the Regression node.
SAS Enterprise Miner 13.1 and later
Beginning in SAS Enterprise Miner 13.1, the Ratemaking node is no longer available. However, you can import and run diagrams from previous releases that contain a Ratemaking node. If you run the node from an imported diagram, the node now gives an error if the target is binary.
Error: A binary target is not supported.
For best results, use the HP GLM node instead of the Ratemaking node. The HP GLM node contains all of the features of the Ratemaking node, and is optimized for the high-performance environment.
