Problem Note 51436: Trying to open SAS® Enterprise Miner™ with Java Web Start fails with the error "Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.importgroup.wip"
This note is obsolete. See SAS note 53017, " Launching SAS® Enterprise Miner(tm) with Java Web Start fails with various errors depending on the version of Java Runtime Environment in use".
If you try to launch SAS Enterprise Miner using Java Web Start with Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0_45, you receive a security warning. The warning states that this application will be blocked in a future version of Java because the JAR files do not contain permission attributes. If you click Run to bypass this security warning, then following error is displayed:
Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.importgroup.wip.
Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.importgroup.content.
Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.importgroup.enterpriseminer.
Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.keepalivetarget.wip.
Unable to find the System Property:dminemid.keepalivetarget.em.
With Java 1.7.0_45, the property handling for the Java Web Start JNLP file changed. The change causes a problem when you launch SAS Enterprise Miner. To avoid the problem, use a version of the Java Runtime Environment that is earlier than 1.7.0_45.
Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0_15 is shipped with SAS® 9.4. You can use Java Runtime Environment 1.7.0_15, or you can use a version earlier than 1.7.0_45. Java Runtime Environment versions earlier than 1.7.0_45 that are supported by SAS®, 9.3 are located on this page:
SAS® 9.3 Support for Java Runtime Environments.
After you uninstall Java 1.7.0_45, and install a supported JRE, follow these steps:
- Clear the Java cache:
How do I clear the Java cache?
- Clear the web browser cache:
How do I clear my web browser cache?
- Launch SAS Enterprise Miner using Java Web Start.
You can enable the Java Web Start Console logging to verify the JRE that your browser uses.
