Problem Note 51966: Updates to the common data model can fail during the initial start up of the SAS® Customer Intelligence Reporting middle-tier application

SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager, SAS® Decision Manager, and SAS® Digital Marketing all use the SAS Customer Intelligence Reporting application. This reporting application updates the Customer Intelligence common data model with contact history, response history, and presented treatment history information. In order to update the common data model, the reporting application must have metadata about the campaign and flow business contexts. In some cases, that information is not available during the reporting application's initial start up. During the brief period that the metadata is lacking, the stored processes that are associated with the reporting application fail to update the common data model.

After you apply the hot fix, the stored processes do not run when business context metadata is unavailable. Instead, their execution is suppressed and the following message is written in the SAS Customer Intelligence Reporting log:

INFO Not running task at this time because business context data is unavailable.

When business context metadata becomes available, the following message might be written to the log if a large number of requests has been sent to the reporting application:

WARN Held STP data lost due to memory constraints. Ticket number: {0}

This message appears only when the number of updates that are sent to the reporting application exceeds the memory that is available to store them.
