Installation Note 51575: Changes to the installation depot configuration files are necessary to successfully install and deploy SAS® Customer Intelligence 6.1 and 6.1_M1
To ensure successful installation and deployment of SAS Customer Intelligence, install the latest release, which is SAS Customer Intelligence 6.3. If your installation depot and plan file must be at release 6.1_M1, you must create the installation depot from Revision 14W04 or later.
To determine which release or revision you have, open your SAS® software order e-mail and look at the Site Number in the section of the e-mail entitled "Information for Technical Support." The Site Number contains a field named Product. The value in that field contains your revision level.
Before you run the SAS® Deployment Wizard, your need to change you configuration files if your installation includes SAS® Marketing Optimization 6.1_M1, and the metadata server will be on a different computer than the SAS application servers.
If this is the case, after you download and create your installation depot, contact SAS Technical Support and provide the following information:

- whether this was originally a new installation for SAS Customer Intelligence 5.4 or 5.41 or whether you upgraded and migrated from an earlier version
Note the following:
- Promptly sending the requested information with a clear description of the type of installation to be performed (for example, new installation versus upgrade or migration), will help avoid unnecessary delays in receiving any necessary configuration file updates from SAS Technical Support.
- A separate SAS Technical Support track must be assigned for each installation configuration, where the requested and applicable files must be sent.
SAS Technical Support will review the information and provide any necessary configuration file updates.
These must be added to your installation depot before you run the SAS Deployment Wizard for the first time to install and configure the system.
