Problem Note 50290: An error occurs intermittently when you try to update metadata objects from SAS® client applications
You might occasionally receive an error similar to the following when you attempt to update metadata objects from any SAS® client application:
ERROR: The requested person or identity group with name 'username' does not exist in metadata.
The error occurs when ResponsibleParty objects are fetched from the SAS® Metadata Repository. Therefore, attempting to update any object that has a ResponsibleParty object associated with it potentially can produce this error. The error, which occurs intermittently, has been reported specifically in SAS® Data Integration Studio when Job objects objects are updated.
The problem is a result of issues with thread concurrency that cause conflicting query locks in the SAS® Metadata Server, which is why the problem is generally intermittent.
There is no workaround for this problem other than to retry the update request.
