Problem Note 50191: When creating a filter, if the Loss Data tab is clicked, the override-application logic is unclear

DetailsAboutRate It

In SAS® OpRisk VaR, you create filters in the Filter window. You specify the filter criteria, click the Apply button, and then view the filter results in the Loss Data tab.

When you make a change in the filter criteria, and click Apply, a pop-up dialog box presents a yes/no dialog box about clearing the filter overrides.

  • If the (default) yes option is selected, then the counts displayed in the Loss Data tab are updated.
  • If the no option is selected, then the changes in the filter criteria are applied to the loss data. However, the counts displayed in the Loss Data tab are not updated.

When you make a change in the filter criteria, and you have not clicked Apply, if you select the Loss Data tab, a pop-up dialog box presents a yes/no/cancel dialog box that contains a check box to clear previous inclusion/exclusion overrides. If the check box is left unchecked, then:

  • Selecting yes retains the criteria changes, does not update counts, and switches to the Loss Data tab.
  • Selecting no discards the criteria changes, does not update counts, and switches to the Loss Data tab.
  • Selecting cancel closes the tab switch completely and does not affect criteria or counts.

However, when the check box is checked, then counts are also updated when yes is selected. Loss data counts are updated only when you select yes and check the check box after switching to the Loss Data tab.
