Problem Note 50033: Accessing a metadata-defined SAS/SHARE® library might result in the error "Cannot find TCP service..."

When you access a SAS/SHARE library that is defined in the metadata from a SAS® client such as SAS® Enterprise Guide® or SAS® Data Integration Studio, the allocation might fail and return the following error:
If the library that is using the REMOTE engine is pre-assigned (using the native engine), this error occurs in the workspace server log. If the library is not pre-assigned and you manually do the "assign" from a SAS client, the error occurs in the client's SAS log.
If you copy and paste the DISPLAY LIBNAME statement from SAS® Management Console and run the LIBNAME statement on the same workspace server, the library is allocated successfully.
A temporary workaround is to define the port in the local host's /etc/services file, as shown in the following example (including quotation marks):
