Installation Note 50123: SAS® Deployment Wizard displays a path to Windows PowerShell 1.0 even though the installed version is later during an installation of SAS® 9.4

DetailsAboutRate It

Some SAS 9.4 deployments require Windows PowerShell. The PowerShell version that is required is 5.0 or later. During the installation of SAS software, the SAS Deployment Wizard dialog box might display the path to Windows PowerShell 1.0. This path is not actually a problem. By design, Microsoft installs PowerShell versions later than 1.0 to the PowerShell 1.0 path.

If the version of PowerShell installed is 5.0 or later, you can ignore this discrepancy and continue with the installation. To verify that you are running PowerShell version 5.0 or later, simply open PowerShell and submit the command below:

get-host

If you meet the minimum requirement of PowerShell 5.0 or later, you can proceed with the installation.

Below is a SAS Deployment Wizard dialog box showing the discrepancy. The box indicates the requirement of PowerShell 5.0 but shows the default path to C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0.

Visit PowerShell Documentation for more information on Windows PowerShell.

Visit SAS® 9.4 Support for Other Third-Party Software Products for up-to-date information on SAS supported PowerShell versions.
