Problem Note 49859: SAS® Enterprise GRC might become unresponsive if you export a large amount of data or you create a large number of risk instances or control instances

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Enterprise GRC, you can export data from a table to Excel. You can also create risk instances and control instances. If you export many thousands of records, or if you create many thousands of risk instances or control instances, SAS Enterprise GRC might become unresponsive. If you look in the application server log files, you might see messages about memory problems and Java stack traces.

To work around the problem of exporting too many records, you can configure a limit for how many records you can export to Excel at one time. A general suggestion is to use a 5000-record limit. To specify the limit, perform the following steps:

  1. Log on to SAS® Management Console.
  2. Expand Application Management.
  3. Expand Configuration Manager.
  4. Right-click Enterprise GRC Mid Tier 4.3, and select Properties.
  5. Click the Settings tab.
  6. On the left side, select General Configuration.
  7. Modify the parameter Maximum number of records to export to have a value of 5000 or less.

There is no workaround to the problem where SAS Enterprise GRC becomes unresponsive if you create many thousands of risk instances or control instances.
