Problem Note 49864: Performance degradation might occur in SAS® Merchandise Data Integration when running hierarchy load
The SAS Merchandise Data Integration mdi_loaddm_merch_hierarchy job creates an output data set SASDATA.LV10MERCH from the prepare_lv10merch macro. The data set contains both the existing LV10MAST_IDs as well as the LV10MAST_IDs that are being loaded. Having both results in a larger SASDATA.LV10MERCH data set which subsequently leads to slower data set processing.
To address this performance issue, modify the prepare_lv10merch macro to include only the LV10MAST_IDs that are being loaded in the SASDATA.LV10MERCH output data set.
Contact SAS Technical Support to get a replacement prepare_lv10merch.sas file that contains the modification.
To implement the modification, follow these steps:
- Make a backup copy of $MDI_ROOT/code/sasmacro/prepare_lv10merch.sas.
- Save the replacement prepare_lv10merch.sas file in
$MDI_ROOT/code/sasmacro.
