Important:
Note: Upgrading to JBoss Application Server 7.1.1.Final (Community version) is required when you upgrade to Java 7.
In the second maintenance release for SAS 9.3 (TS1M2), JBoss AS 7.1 is supported with Java 7. However, the SAS Deployment Wizard does not automatically configure JBoss AS 7.1.1. Currently, there are two options depending on whether you plan to upgrade an existing SAS 9.3 installation with JBoss AS 7.1 or install a new SAS 9.3 installation using JBoss AS 7.1.
If you are currently running an existing SAS 9.3 environment using JBoss 4.2.3 or 5.1.0, then complete the instructions found in "Updating an Existing SAS® 9.3 Enterprise BI Server (TS1M2) Deployment to Use JBoss Application Server 7.1". A link to this document is also available in the "Post-Installation Configuration" section of the JBoss Application Server Documentation for SAS® 9.3 web page.
Important: The Downloads tab in this note contains a JBoss7Upgrade ZIP file that you need to install in the first step of "Step 3: Execute Scripts That Modify Your Existing Configuration to Reference JBoss AS 7.1.1," in the "Updating an Existing SAS® 9.3 Enterprise BI Server (TS1M2) Deployment to Use JBoss Application Server 7.1" document.
If you are planning a new installation of SAS 9.3 using JBoss AS 7.1, the SAS Deployment Wizard will not automatically configure JBoss for you. Therefore, when you run the wizard, the simplest option is to select the check box for the item listed below that appears on the Review Required Software page in the wizard.
You are still prompted to enter the path for your Java Development Kit and JBoss Application Server. You should provide correct directory paths for your installations. You must select the check box above, which indicates that JBoss and JDK will be installed on another machine, regardless of whether they are installed on the machine that you are currently on.
When the wizard process completes successfully, you must complete the instructions found in the document "Updating an Existing SAS® 9.3 Enterprise BI Server (TS1M2) Deployment to Use JBoss Application Server 7.1". You must not use the instructions found in the Instructions.html file that is generated by the SAS Deployment Wizard.
The document "Updating an Existing SAS® 9.3 Enterprise BI Server (TS1M2) Deployment to Use JBoss Application Server 7.1" was written with the intention that customers already have SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) installed with JBoss AS 5.1.0.GA. Nonetheless, the manual configuration is the same using either option, and the current document provides the steps that are required if you perform a new installation of SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) with JBoss AS 7.1.1.Final.
