Problem Note 48955: A blank library properties window might be produced when you select a database resource template in the SAS® Management Console New Library wizard

The library properties window might be blank when you use the New Library wizard and you select a database resource template for the library type in SAS® Management Console. In addition to the blank library properties window, one or more of the following problems might occur:
- The Resource Template of the New Library wizard might display the message Missing resource Library. The message also lists the missing libraries (for example, Hadoop, HPA, or LASR).
- The New Library Wizard does not enable you to create the new library.
- The New Library Wizard enables you to create the library, but the Libref, Engine, Database Server, and Connection information is missing from the wizard page.
- When you right–click a library and select the Display LIBNAME statement option from pop–up menu, you receive the following error message:
Cannot not display LIBNAME statement: No Library Reference was specified
The Missing resource Library message is the best indication that there is a mismatch between the SAS® releases on the client and on the server. The referenced resource library templates, such as Hadoop, are not supported until the second maintenance release for SAS® 9.3 (TS1M2).
To verify the problem,
- Use the ViewRegistry Report to determine the version of Base SAS on your server. Follow the instructions in items 1-6 in SAS Note 35968, "Using the ViewRegistry Report and other methods to determine the SAS® 9.2 and SAS® 9.3 software releases and hot fixes that are installed."
- Determine the version of your SAS Management Studio client. You can find this by clicking Help #79658; About SAS Management Console on your client machine. Note the value labeled Version=
The problem is solved after the client and server are updated so that they each have the same SAS® release.
Note: If the only symptom that appears is that the last page of the New Library Wizard is blank and you have selected the Advanced Option button, see SAS Note 48084, "A new database library cannot be created when you invoke the Advanced Options feature during setup in SAS® 9.3 Management Console."
