Problem Note 48844: Size sets that you create in SAS® Size Profiling might not reflect size sets that are actually sold
In SAS Size Profiling, size sets created might not reflect the size sets that are actually sold. In this case, the generated profiles might not reflect the sizes that you want to order.
This issue occurs under both of the following conditions:
- You use the model geo-prod status process to create active and inactive product statuses.
- The product hierarchy includes a very large percentage of unused or never-to-be-used sizes.
The model geo-prod status process loads only active statuses for SKUs. If you use the model geo-prod status process, it is recommended that you not load clearance status for products. However, you have the option of loading clearance statuses into the PRF_GEO_PROD_STATUS table. If you do so, and a SKU at a store has a clearance period, that SKU receives an active status when any other SKU within the style-color has a sale. That is, even if that SKU has no sales at a store, if a clearance period exists for it, you might see the size in your profiles.
You can either work around the problem or download a hot fix.
The workarounds for this issue are as follows:
- You can eliminate sizes having 0% contributions.
- You can choose not to load clearance statuses.
- If you load clearance statuses, do not load a clearance status for stores that actually did not stock the size.
