Problem Note 48314: A SAS® Stored Process connection to a load-balanced SAS® OLAP server might randomly fail under heavy load conditions

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When SAS® Stored Process servers are under heavy load conditions, random failures to connect to a load-balanced SAS OLAP server might occur. When the connection fails, one or more error messages, similar to the following, are received that suggest a problem with the credentials that were supplied to the OLAP server:

ERROR: Invalid credentials

ERROR: Access denied

ERROR: Encryption algorithm specified is not supported

A key symptom of encountering this problem is that the same user(s) that runs the same SAS ® Stored Process(es) usually connects successfully to the load-balanced OLAP server. However, occasionally the connection to OLAP server fails. Although the problem is unpredictable, it is most likely to occur when the SAS Stored Process servers are running at or near maximum capacity. This behavior is due to an excess of simultaneous users, a large volume of submitted stored processes, long running SAS Stored Processes, or a combination of these factors.

To circumvent the random connection failures, either disable load balancing on the OLAP server configuration or execute the SAS Stored Process(es) using a standard SAS Workspace server instead of a SAS Stored Process server (if possible).
