Problem Note 48047: The conversion of data formatted for the NLS locale does not work properly in DataFlux® Federation Server
Specification conformance is a major goal of the DataFlux Federation Server. The server is required to support industry standard specifications such as ODBC/JDBC. One factor of this conformance is handling data conversions of data that is compliant with those standards. The Federation Server is also required to follow the I18N (Internationalization) standards defined for SAS products. The conversion routines do not correctly handle data formatted for the customer's chosen locale.
For example:
When a locale-valid numeric string needs to be converted into a signed
or unsigned integer, a problem may occur if the string is formatted like 123. or 123.00.
If this type of pattern data is used in a SQL statement, the error
Cannot connect to SQL Logging service
will appear in SQL Log task in Federation Server Managers.
