Usage Note 48073: Suppressing error details in SAS® Web Report Studio

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When errors occur in SAS Web Report Studio, you might see a Show Details link that can be used to display more information.

Beginning with release 4.3, you can use a property to suppress the details. The first step depends on your release.

  • If you are using release 4.3 through 4.31_M2, then click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix that includes support for this property.
  • Beginning with release 4.4, this property is available without a hot fix. Beginning with release 4.4_M5, error details are suppressed by default. To show the details, set the property to false.

Note: The property suppresses only the details available from the specific message shown previously. Beginning with release 4.4_M3, use this property in conjunction with the most recent hot fix in order to suppress additional messages, as explained in SAS Note 61904.

Follow these steps to suppress error details:

  1. In SAS Management Console, expand Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► SAS Application Infrastructure.
  2. Right-click on Web Report Studio 4.x, and select Properties.
  3. In the Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
  4. On the Advanced tab, click Add.
  5. In the Define New Property dialog box, complete these steps:
    1. For the Property Name, enter wrs.suppressErrorDetails
    2. For the Property Value, enter true
  6. Restart your web application server in order to enforce this change.
