Problem Note 46830: Specifying a LENGTH= modifier in an SQL procedure might result in a data integrity issue

A data integrity issue might occur when the following things exist in your SQL PROC code:

  • A Teradata table is located on both the CREATE TABLE and FROM clauses
  • The Teradata tables are being referenced via the LIBNAME engine
  • There is a LENGTH= modifier that specifies a length longer than the actual length of the variable for at least one of the variables on the SELECT clause
