Problem Note 46775: Double quotation marks in the description of a staging table causes SAS® IT Resource Management to fail
A SAS IT Resource Management staging job might fail, issuing the following note and error messages:
NOTE 138-205: Line generated by the macro variable "DOTABLE".
ERROR 71-63: The value specified for the LABEL option is too long.
This error occurs because a staged table contains double quotation marks in its description. The problem occurs even when the table contains balanced double quotation marks. The SAS IT Resource Management client fails as a result of actions performed against any staging or aggregation job referencing the staged table that submits SAS code to the SASITRM application server. The following list contains examples of such actions that can cause the failure:
- selecting the Code tab for code generation transformation
- deploying a staging or aggregation job
- modifying a staging or aggregation job
- running staging or aggregation jobs from the SAS IT Resource Management client
- running SAS code from the SAS code editor
- implementing any action (for example, purging, deleting, or modifying) that can be performed on a staged table
To circumvent this error:
- Remove any double quotation marks that are found in the description of the staged table. This description is located on the General tab in the staged table properties.
- Terminate the current SAS Workspace Server session by disconnecting and reconnecting the SAS IT Resource Management client. Terminate the session before you perform any action that involves submitting SAS code to the application server.
