Problem Note 44902: SPDE (Scalable Performance Date Engine ) LIBNAME statement can generate an HSSTER error or cause SAS to terminate
This problem was originally reported by a customer running PC SAS. The root path used for the metadata was not particularly long. The DATAPATH and INDEXPATH arguments were not long for a PC but caused a LIBNAME statement error with a code HSSTER. In that example there were 8 locations in both the DATAPATH and INDEXPATH.
Shortening the path and adding more of them for a total of 20 locations in both DATAPATH and INDEXPATH, caused SAS to issue a critical error, trace back, and terminate.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
Long paths in an SPDE LIBNAME statement or many locations in the DATAPATH and INDEXPATH arguments can cause the LIBNAME statement to either generate an HSSTER error or terminate SAS.
