Problem Note 43128: Forced out of edit mode when using the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office to edit a SAS® table in Microsoft Excel
When you are editing a SAS table using SAS Add-in for Microsoft Office, you might be forced to exit edit mode after making a modification to the data. This action might be taken if you have multiple tables open in Excel and at least one table meets one of the following conditions:
- The table is stored in a range rather than a table, which can occur if the data wasn't opened into a table or you converted the table to a range. To verify that the SAS table is being opened as a table, select SAS ► Tools ► Options ►Data and verify that the Open data into an Excel Table option is selected. If the table was converted to a range in Excel, select Home ► Format as Table, and then select a table format for the range.
- The table dimensions have changed from the original data size, which might happen if you add a row or column to the view of the data in the Excel spreadsheet. Taking this action modifies the dimensions of the viewed table, not the actual physical table. To reset your dimensions back to the original table size, simply refresh your data.
