Usage Note 42319: When using Java Web Start, clear the java cache after applying SAS® Model Manager hot fixes
When using Java Web Start to deploy SAS Model Manager, you need to clear the java cache after applying hot fixes on the SAS Model Manager server. Clearing the java cache after applying hot fixes is a necessary step so that the new and updated files on the server will be used by the SAS Model Manager client.
If you go to http://servername:6401 (default port) to access the SAS Model Manager client, then you are using the client through Java Web Start. Also, when using Java Web Start, the SAS Model Manager client will not have an entry under Start ► Programs ► SAS.
To clear the Java cache, follow these steps:
1. Go to Start ► Control Panel ► Java (Plug-In)
2. General Tab ► Temporary Internet Files ► Settings
3. Click Delete Files
4. A pop-up window will appear and ask if you want to delete files. Click OK.
5. Open your Internet Explorer browser and go to Tools ► Internet Options
6. On the General Tab click Delete (in the Browsing history section). Uncheck everything except Temporary Internet Files.
7. Close and Re-open Internet Explorer and relaunch the SAS® Analytics Platform web link - http://servername:6401.
Contact your SAS Server Administrator to obtain the correct web link.
