Problem Note 42279: User-defined columns do not retain values between sessions in SAS® Data Surveyor for Clickstream Data jobs

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In SAS Data Surveyor for Clickstream Data, user-defined columns for session records lose data values in the multi-log template jobs. This problem occurs for columns that are carried over from a prior run of the Clickstream Sessionize transformation.

The Clickstream Sessionize transformation receives session records as input from two sources. Session records that come from the output of the Clickstream Parse transformation are not affected by this problem. However, records that come from the permanent library location are affected by this problem.

At the end of Clickstream Sessionize, any data associated with session records that have not satisfied the time-out criteria are placed in the permanent library location. However, due to this problem, the data associated with user-defined columns is not kept. When this data is loaded into the subsequent Clickstream Sessionize transformation, the data values for these user-defined columns is missing.

This can be a difficult problem to identify. The problem only affects records that are input to Clickstream Sessionize from the permanent library. In addition, user-defined columns are often sparsely populated with data making it difficult to identify actual missing data.
