Problem Note 42096: Difference between order-up-to level and reorder level appears high compared to the estimation by the EOQ model in the MIRP Procedure

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

In PROC MIRP when a min-max policy is used for intermittent and lumpy demand data, the difference between order-up-to level and reorder level may be very high compared to the estimation by the EOQ model.

A min-max policy is specified by setting the PolicyType=SS in the NODEDATA= data set. Intermittent and lumpy demand data refers to data where demand occurs rarely, and when demand does occur, the size of the demand is significantly larger than 1. The DemandInterval variable in the NODEDATA= dataset indicates how often a positive demand occurs. Its value is larger than 1 when demand is intermittent. The size of the positive demand is specified in the DEMANDDATA= data set.
