During the installation and configuration of SAS^® software on Oracle WebLogic 10.3.x, the following error might occur during the SAS Deployment Wizard configuration:

BUILD FAILED

taskdef A class needed by class weblogic.ant.taskdefs.management.WLConfig cannot be found:
weblogic/management/WebLogicObjectName

You might also encounter the following errors:

Error 1

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/management/WebLogicObjectName

Error 2

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: weblogic.management.WebLogicObjectName

These errors occur when the location of the WebLogic home directory (WL_HOME) is not defined as a subdirectory of the MiddleWare home directory (MW_HOME). For example, if you have a WebLogic home directory called wlserver_10.3, that directory must reside directly under the MW_HOME location. Unless you specify a directory, MW_HOME defaults to D:\bea.

To circumvent this problem, you must re-install WebLogic and ensure that WL_HOME is a subdirectory that is immediately under the MW_HOME directory.

Note: Beginning with the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11gR1 release, MW_HOME is the new term for what was previously called BEA_HOME.

After the new installation of WebLogic, be sure to select at least one SAS application to re-install. You need to re-install at least one SAS application in order to display the dialog box in which you specify the WebLogic Home directory for the SAS Deployment Wizard configuration process.
