In preparation for creating the SAS BI Dashboard 4.3 sample indicators, this sample explains how to create the range that will be used with indicators based on SASHELP.CLASS and the AGE column.
Sample AGE range
.At this point, the Range editor should look like the following display.

For the range in this sample, the Range editor displays five lines in the Intervals table, and shows the option for five different colors. This has always been a point of confusion when creating range objects. In all of the Dynamic Gauge Types, except Dynamic Traffic Lights, the smallest and largest numbers of the range are used as endpoints of the displayed gauge. When the value being displayed is outside of the largest and smallest interval values, the pointer will display at the endpoint closest to the value. There are some gauge types that indicate that the value is beyond the upper or lower bound of the range based on the color setting of the largest and smallest range interval values.
