Sample 41198: Overview of SAS® BI Dashboard 4.3 indicator samples

Overview
This SAS note contains links to a variety of samples for SAS BI Dashboard 4.3, which is completely new software.
The goal of each indicator sample is to demonstrate how indicator display types are impacted by the design of their associated indicator data objects. Each sample also shows how you can change the indicator display by modifying some indicator and dashboard properties.
Each indicator sample contains the following content.
- a link to instructions for creating an indicator data object
- a link to instructions for creating a range
- specific information about creating the indicator display type
The samples use data from the SASHELP library. Depending on the display type, either SASHELP.CLASS or SASHELP.PRDSALE is used. These tables should be available from SAS BI Dashboard without any additional configuration.
Ranges will be created for specific columns in the indicator data objects. This task is being done so that the sample indicators display information that is not confusing.
Choose an indicator display type sample
The following table lists the indicator display types that each sample explains. Click the link that corresponds to the indicator display type that you want to create. Each sample directly links to the specific indicator object and range that it uses.
| Display type | Appearance |
|---|---|
| The KPI display type generates one gauge for every observation that is returned from the indicator data object. This display type is not designed to be used with large amounts of data. |

| The Bar Chart With Reference Lines display type produces a bar chart where each bar is colored based on the range interval that the value meets. |
|
| The Bar Chart With Bullet display type produces a bar chart where each bar has a bullet indicator that displays additional information about the data that makes up the bar. |
