Problem Note 40721: Synonyms display in the SAS Explorer regardless of which value you use for the SHOW_SYNONYMS= LIBNAME statement option

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Along with tables and views in SAS 9.2, you can show synonyms in the SAS Explorer by using the SHOW_SYNONYMS= LIBNAME statement option with the value YES. However, synonyms are appearing in the explorer regardless of which value (YES or NO) is used when you submit the option in a LIBNAME statement that contains the Oracle engine.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

Note: When you issue a LIBNAME statement that contains the Oracle engine and the SHOW_SYNONYMS= option, you only see tables and views. When you apply this hot fix, the default behavior for SAS 9.2 will also only show tables and views. If you want to see only synonyms, you must use the SHOW_SYNONYMS= options. For example, you will only see tables and views if you submit a LIBNAME statement similar to the following:

libname ora oracle user=user-name password=password path=path-name;

However, you will see only synonyms if you submit a LIBNAME statement similar to the following:

libname ora oracle user=user-name password=password path=path-name show_synonyms=yes;

This hot fix also includes the addition of the LIBNAME statement option DB_OBJECTS=(TABLES | VIEWS | SYNONYMS | ALL). If you want to see tables, views, and synonyms in the SAS Explorer, you can use the DB_OBJECTS=ALL option:

libname ora oracle user=user--name password=password path=path-name db_objects=all;
