SAS has deprecated the metadata replication tool (the Replication Wizard) in SAS^® Management Console for SAS 9.2, as well as the %OMAPORT macros used for porting a SAS^® Metadata Repository created in one host environment to another host environment.

SAS Technical Support advises all customers to avoid using the Replication Wizard and %OMAPORT macros in SAS 9.2 deployments, even though the Replication Wizard is still available from SAS Management Console, and the OMAPORT macros are still included in the deployment.

You can use promotion tools (in particular, the Import and Export Wizards) to copy and move metadata between SAS deployments. For details, see Using the Promotion Tools in the SAS^® 9.2 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide. The Import & Export Wizards and their batch equivalents are used to import and export SAS packages. These tools are not affected by the deprecation, so they are available for you to use as necessary.
