Usage Note 38779: The 64-bit edition of SAS/ACCESS® 9.2 Interface to ODBC running in a 64-bit Windows operating environment requires 64-bit ODBC drivers
The 64-bit edition of SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC running under 64-bit Windows cannot be used to access data sources for which only 32-bit ODBC drivers are available.
To date, some vendors provide both 32-bit and 64-bit ODBC drivers for their data sources (for example, Oracle, Sybase, Teradata, and Microsoft SQL Server). However, you might find that only 32-bit ODBC drivers are available for other data sources (for example, Microsoft Office data sources such as Excel and Access).
For data sources for which there are only 32-bit ODBC drivers available, the only recourse with 64-bit editions of SAS/ACCESS 9.2 applications under 64-bit Windows is to use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to PC Files with the PC Files Server component.
