When the SAS® Download Manager copies certain files into the SAS Software Depot folder, the copies are incorrectly created with the date-and-time stamp that indicates when the SAS Software Depot folder was created. The SAS Download Manager does not preserve the time at which the files were copied. Then, when these files are installed from the SAS Software Depot into the SASHOME directory, they are installed with the newer date-and-time stamp. The failure of the SAS Download Manager to preserve the original dates causes a problem when you attempt to install a hot fix for the affected files.
If you attempt to install hot fixes that were released before the SAS Software Depot was created, then the hot fix is not applied and the following message is returned:
The hot fix installation fails because the date-and-time stamp on the file in the SASHOME directory is more recent than the date-and-time stamp on the file in the hot fix that the Maintenance Install Tool (MIT) is attempting to copy. The file with the older date does not overwrite the file with the more recent date.
The following hot fixes are affected by this issue:
Base SAS® 9.21
A01002
A01003
A01013
A01016
SAS® Table Server Base Components 9.2
A30001
If you encounter this problem with the hot fixes listed above, use the -alwaysoverwrite option to install the hot fix. To use this option, do the following:
The command in the Run dialog box should look similar to the following:
"c:\documents and settings\desktop\a01002wn.exe" -alwaysoverwrite
Note: If your system is running on the Windows Vista operating system, you must turn off User Access Control (UAC) or you will be unable to apply the hot fixes successfully.
To turn off UAC:
