For multidimensional crosstabulation tables, SAS Web Report Studio can pass the following values to a prompt in a target relational report:
Note: To pass group break or filter criteria, you must be using at least the second maintenance release for SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2).
The following two examples illustrate how visible values and applied filters are passed from an OLAP-based report.
The following crosstabulation table is linked to a relational report that has a prompt for product category. Because the table is not drilled or expanded to show product categories, if you click the indicated cell, SAS Web Report Studio cannot pass values for product category to the linked report. In this case, the prompt window appears.
The following crosstabulation table is expanded to display the Children Sports product category under the product group A-Team, Kids. If you click the indicated cell, then Children Sports is passed as the value for the prompt in the target report, and the prompt window is bypassed.
The following crosstabulation table is filtered to display information for Mexico and Canada.
Although the Geo hierarcy is hidden in the table, the Geo.COUNTRY level is associated with the prompt for Country in the target report. As a result, if you click any cell, then SAS Web Report Studio passes Mexico and Canada as values to the prompt for Country in the target report.
For an example of passing group break values, see SAS Note 35642.
