Installation Note 36547: A host name that includes an underscore or other unreserved characters causes problems for SAS® Business Intelligence Web applications
If you attempt to run the SAS Stored Process Web application or SAS® Information Delivery Portal on a host machine that contains an underscore (_) character in the host name, you might receive the following error message:
Invalid URI for repository
The RemoteServices.log file, which is located on your middle-tier machine at .../Lev1/web/logs/RemoteServices.log), might contain the following warning message:
WARN [] com.sas.services.information.DAVRepository - Invalid URI for repository
While attempting to log into the SAS Information Delivery Portal, you might experience the following message in the browser or in the Jboss server log, which is located on your middle-tier machine at <JBoss>/server/SASServer/log/server.log:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to retrieve a theme object given the cascade of names available.
According to Oracle Bug ID 5049974, "Underscore is not a valid character in a hostname according to RFC 2396, RFC 952, and RFC 1123". Other unreserved characters (including _!~'()*) in the host name can also cause this problem.
You can avoid this problem by changing the host name so that it does not include an underscore or another unreserved character.
