With the second maintenance release for SAS® 9.2 (TS2M2), SAS Web Report Studio enables you to pass hidden values to prompts in a linked report. The hidden values can be either of the following:
Note: This feature was added for OLAP-based reports in version 4.2_M1, and for relational reports in version 4.3.
The grouped or filtered data item must be manually associated with the related prompt.
In the following relational report, the Country category is assigned to group breaks.
This report is linked to a target report that includes a prompt for Country. Here is how the data item/prompt association is made in the Report Linking dialog box. Notice that Country is identified as a group value.
If you click one of the linked values in source report (shown below), the value for the currently selected group break (Canada) is passed to the prompt for country in the target report, and the prompt window is bypassed.
Here are the results displayed in the target report, which is filtered to show only Canada.
For an example of passing values for a filtered hidden category from an OLAP-based report to a relational report, see "Passing values for an applied filter" in SAS Note 36631.
