The %OMABAKUP macro backs up server journal and configuration files in addition to the SAS metadata repositories. The XCMD= system option must be set in the SAS session in which %OMABAKUP executes.
However, the macro might fail to copy the server journal files and the configuration files. An error message similar to the following writes to the backup job's log file:
ERROR: Shell escape is not valid in this SAS session.
This issue occurs when you use the Backup Wizard in SAS® Management Console to configure a backup job and then schedule that job to run on the SAS DATA Step Batch Server within the SASMeta Application Server context. By default, the SAS DATA Step Batch Server is configured with the NOXCMD= system option in effect.
To resolve this issue, edit the sasbatch_usermods.bat file in the SASMeta/BatchServer directory as follows:
Set USERMODS_OPTION=-XCMD
