Usage Note 34785: What causes the error "The CHOICE= variable contains redundant alternatives" in PROC MDC?

DetailsAboutRate It

In PROC MDC, each individual chooses one and only one alternative from his choice set. So for each individual, the decision variable should be zero for all but one of the alternatives presented to the individual. A nonzero value (usually 1) indicates that that specific alternative is chosen by the individual. If there are two or more alternatives with nonzero value for the decision variable, then this error message will be issued.
