Problem Note 33366: 'Registration for column in table is not found on the metadata server' error when generating a cube in SAS® Activity Based Management
If you use SAS
® Activity-Based Management and attempt to generate a cube from a model which has non-English characters in one of the fields, you might encounter the following error:
ERROR: The registration for column "xxxxxxxx" in table "xxxx.Mnnnn_xxxx_xxxx" is not found on the metadata server.
Examples of non-English characters include:
ä Ð é Ü ß æ Ø Å
When browsing the metadata, you will observe that the character has been converted to an underscore ( _ )
To circumvent this issue:
1. Terminate all active SAS sessions on the system.
2. Add the option validvarname=any to the SAS configuration file, which is typically located at:
<C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS 9.1\nls\xx\SASV9.CFG>
where xx is the two-character language code being used by the SAS installation.
3. Restart your SAS session(s).
