Problem Note 33984: Poor performance occurs in client applications when the metadata environment contains a large number of repositories
If you have a SAS® metadata environment configured with a large number of repositories, you might experience slow performance in any client application that connects to this metadata server.
Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
Note: after you install the hot fix you must modify your omaconfig.xml file in order
to fully implement the fix as follows:
Edit your omaconfig.xml file in Lev1/SASMain and add the tag <OMA FOUNDATION_ONLY_GROUPS_USERS="YES" /> just above the <RPOSMGR.../> tag, like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<OMAconfig>
<OMA ADMINUSERS="MetadataServer/adminUsers.txt"
TRUSTEDUSERS="MetadataServer/trustedUsers.txt"
MAXACTIVETHREADS="8"
GROUPSFORMEMBERASSOCDELETE="DESKTOP_PORTALPAGES_GROUP,
Portlet Template Group,
OrderingGroup,
DESKTOP_PAGEHISTORY_GROUP,
Portal Collection"/>
<OMA FOUNDATION_ONLY_GROUPS_USERS="YES" />
<RPOSMGR PATH="MetadataServer/rposmgr"/>
</OMAconfig>
Be sure to restart your metadata server after editing the omaconfig.xml file.
NOTE: This fix only works if all users and groups are defined exclusively in the Foundation repository. If you have users or groups defined in other repositories and you install the hot fix, then the metadata server will no longer search other repositories for user or group definitions. Consequently, these users and groups will not be recognized by the metadata server.
