If SAS^® 9.1 is not also installed on your system, follow these instructions to completely remove SAS^® Foundation 9.2.

Removing SAS^® Foundation 9.2 (TS1M0)

1. Select Start ► Settings ► Control Panel ► Add/Remove Programs. (In the Vista operating environment, select Start ► Control Panel ► Programs and Features).
2. In the Add or Remove Programs window, select SAS 9.2 and click Remove. (Under Vista, select SAS 9.2 and click Uninstall.)
3. If there are any other SAS applications listed, remove them as well (for example, SAS^® 9.2 XML Mapper or SAS^® 9.2 ODS Graphics Editor).
   Note: Alternatively, you can remove the software using the SAS Uninstall Wizard. 
4. Remove the remaining SAS application, the SAS 9.2 Versioned Jar Repository (VJR). If you have problems removing the SAS VJR, see SAS Note 31151, "An error message appears when you try to remove the SAS^® Versioned Jar Repository by using the Add or Remove Programs tool in Microsoft Windows."
5. Restart your system.
6. Start Windows Explorer and delete this directory: C:\Program Files\SAS
7. Start Windows Explorer and delete the following directory:
   C:\Documents and Settings\installer-user-ID\Local Settings\Application Data\SAS
   (Under Vista only, delete this directory:
   C:\Users\installer-user-ID\AppData\Local\SAS\SAS Deployment Wizard.)
8. Select Start ► Run. Enter and submit the regedit command. (Under Vista, select Start, enter regedit, and press ENTER.)
9. Right-click the following registry key and select Delete from the menu: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAS Institute Inc.
10. Delete the following Uninstall registry key(s) as well:
    • For a 32-bit Windows operating system:

11. Restart your system.

Note: After you remove the software, it is a good idea to run the Disk Cleanup (cleanmgr.exe) and Defragmentation (dfrgui.exe or dfrg.msc) system tools before you perform another installation.

Warning: Always back up the Windows Registry before you make any registry changes. For assistance, see Windows Help, Microsoft documentation, or the Microsoft Windows Web site. SAS is not responsible when you edit the Windows Registry. Changes in the Windows Registry can render your system unusable and require that you reinstall the operating system. SAS^® Foundation 9.2 (TS2Mx)

1. Select Start ► Settings ► Control Panel ► Add/Remove Programs. (In the Vista operating environment, select Start ► Control Panel ► Programs and Features.)
2. In the Add or Remove Programs window, select SAS 9.2 and click Remove. (Under Vista, select SAS 9.2 and click Uninstall.)
3. If there are any other SAS applications listed, remove them as well (for example, SAS^® 9.2 XML Mapper, SAS^® 9.2 ODS Graphics Editor). Note: Alternatively, you can remove the software using the SAS Uninstall Wizard. If you have a planned deployment, you can run the SAS Deployment Manager first to remove the existing configuration. For more details, see "Removing a SAS Configuration" in the SAS^® 9.2 Intelligence Platform: Installation and Configuration Guide (/support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/biig/60946/HTML/default/viewer.htm#remove.htm).
4. Remove the remaining SAS application, the SAS 9.2 VJR.
5. Restart your system.
6. Start Windows Explorer and delete this directory: C:\Program Files\SAS
7. Start Windows Explorer and delete the following directory:
   C:\Documents and Settings\installer-user-ID\Local Settings\Application Data\SAS


8. In the Vista, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7 environments, delete the following directories:

   C:\Users\installer-user-ID\AppData\Local\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard
   C:\Users\installer-user-ID\AppData\Roaming\SAS

9. Select Start ► Run. Enter and submit the regedit command. (Under Vista, select Start, enter regedit, and press ENTER.)
10. Right-click the following registry key and select Delete from the menu: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAS Institute Inc.
11. Delete the following Uninstall registry key(s) as well:
    • For a 32-bit Windows operating system:
