In SAS® Financial Management, when performing a top-down allocation using the proportional method based on prior results, the total amount allocated might exceed the initial source amount to be allocated.
For instance, if a total amount A is to be proportionally allocated to 3 members based on prior year behavior, with the result being amounts X, Y, and Z, the sum of X+Y+Z might exceed the original amount A.
