Problem Note 19665: Numeric formats should be set to BEST32. to ensure that long surrogate keys are handled properly in SASĀ® Anti-Money Laundering 2.1
Numeric formats should be set to BEST32. to ensure that long surrogate
keys are handled properly in SAS Anti-Money Laundering 2.1. The numeric
formats 8., BEST8., and BEST. were previously used to generate surrogate
key, which means that code will limit the key values to 8 digits or
fewer. For large financial institutions, keys can be greater then 8
digits. This limitation is a problem because truncation will occur.
The impact will be on any application (for example, the Scenario
Administrator) that uses the FSK_SEQUENCE table to obtain a surrogate
key value.
