When LDAP authentication is implemented as a front-end authentication provider, the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office (AMO) does not authenticate since it is bypassing the metadata server credentials. When AMO is working with data, it communicates directly to either a workspace or stored process server and since these servers use host authentication, AMO does not accept the LDAP credentials.
LDAP front-end authentication functionality was not initially supported in AMO 2.1.

There could also be error messages regarding invalid user id's or passwords.
LDAP authentication functionality was added with hotfix 21AMO03.
