Problem Note 18155: Unable to mark text in a field in the FSEDIT window

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If you mark text in a field displayed in the FSEDIT window and then issue the STORE command so that you can copy and paste the text into another field, you might receive the following error after issuing the STORE command:

ERROR: There are no marks to STORE or CUT.

You might also notice that the Copy item on the Edit menu is dimmed (grayed out). This is because the text is not seen as marked.

Once you have the hot fix applied, you can use the MARK command as follows to mark text in the FSEDIT window:

  1. Select Tools -> Options -> Keys.
  2. Define the STORE and PASTE commands to Ctrl-Q and Ctrl-R respectively.
  3. Execute the WNAVKEYUNMARK in the command box.
  4. Click on the first letter you want to mark.
  5. Use Ctrl-M to issue the MARK command.
  6. Use the arrow keys to move to the end of the text you want to mark. Note that marked text will appear highlighted as you press the arrow key. If you are marking multiple fields, both the field values and the field labels will be highlighted.
  7. Use Ctrl-Q to store the marked text.
  8. Move to where you want to paste the text.
  9. Use Ctrl-R to paste the text.

In the Microsoft Windows environment, you can also mark text by dragging the mouse and use Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to copy and paste the marked text, respectively.

Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
