The FTP engine in the FILENAME statement does not support the PASV (passive) mode in SAS® 9.2 and earlier. Passive mode is a more secure form of data transfer. Beginning in SAS® 9.3, PASV mode support is available when you use the PASSIVE parameter in the FILENAME statement, as shown in the following example:
When you add the DEBUG parameter to the FILENAME statement, you see that the PASV command is issued instead of the PORT command when you are in PASV mode.
