Problem Note 17764: Processing halted and Error dialog box displayed when reading IBM WebSphere MQ queue

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When using the SAS® Interface to the IBM WebSphere MQ product, processing of SAS code may be halted and a SAS client (ie. Data Integration Studio) may receive a dialog box with the following text:

  11_Read a Message: Error

Code submission failed: An error occurred in the submitted code.
  Check the log for errors.

Upon review of the SAS Log or the SAS Workspace Server Log, no error messages or any other messages are displayed that indicate a problem. After selecting "OK" in the dialog box, the code continues to be processed as expected.

This problem can occur if all the following items are true:

  1. SAS code is submitted against a SAS Workspace Server
  2. The WebSphere MQ Queue in which the SAS code is submitted is either empty (no messages on the queue), or when reading messages in a loop and all of the messages have been read.

To circumvent the problem, select the "OK" button in the dialog box to allow the SAS processing to continue, or submit the SAS code against a local (non-server) session of SAS.

Select the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
