Problem Note 15928: Error generated when data set components are opened as read-only by ETL Studio or other Java dataviewer components

DetailsAboutRate It
An ETL Studio process may incorrectly create data sets with multiple
encodings, or it may create binary data. When you then try to view the
data, this error is generated:

ERROR: Some code points did not transcode.

This problem often occurs for customers using DBCS (Asian language)
SAS, because during the development of ETL Studio processes, a user will
often mistakenly create broken DBCS characters. This problem has been
seen with OLAP studio, ETL Studio and Text Miner.

In order to fix this problem on Solaris, AIXR, HP Itanium, and Windows,
please contact Technical Support for information about special hot fixes
available.
