Problem Note 14432: "Unexpected Signal" error may occur and the JAVA Virtual Machine may crash when creating a graph in the Information Delivery Portal

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It
When creating a graph in the Information Delivery Portal, which will
display the graph using the Visual Data Explorer, the JAVA Virtual
Machine may crash and the following error may occur when the graph is
rendered:

   Unexpected Signal :
   EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) occurred at PC=0x80EE5EC
   Function=[Unknown.]
   Library=C:\j2sdk1.4.2_05\jre\bin\server\jvm.dll

   NOTE: We are unable to locate the function name symbol for the error
         just occurred. Please refer to release documentation for
         possible reason and solutions.

   Current Java thread:
            at sun.dc.pr.PathFiller.setOutputArea(Native Method)
            at sun.dc.pr.Rasterizer.setOutputArea(Rasterizer.java:632)
            at ...

The problem is more likely to occur after rendering the graph, changing
variable assignments, and rendering the graph again.

The problem has been identified in the vendor's Java Virtual Machine.
As a workaround, set the Java property that will disable antialiasing
(smoothing) of the graphs. Here is an example of that property
which is to be used on the Java command line:

   -Dcom.sas.graphics.components.disableAntialiasing=true
