Usage Note 11479: Connection to server dropped when multiple clients attempt connection to
OpenVMS Alpha server
When a client such as Enterprise Guide, JAVA or Visual Basic attempts a
connection to a SAS Integration Technologies IOM Server on an OpenVMS
Alpha host, the connection may be dropped or lost. This problem is
likely to occur when UCX is used on the server and when multiple clients
request a connection to the server within a short period of time.
The recommended values for SOMAXCONN and SOMINCONN under Compaq TCP/IP
Services (also known as UCX) are:
SOMAXCONN = 65535 (except on low-memory systems)
SOMINCONN = SOMAXCONN.
