SAS Data Governance is available for both distributed and non-distributed SAS LASR Analytic Server deployments. These system requirements apply to both LASR deployments. The headings below indicate whether components apply to a specific LASR deployment.
The default stack size of 256k is not sufficient. Increase the stack size by running export PTHREAD_DEFAULT_STACK_SIZE=1048576.
Minimum of OpenSSL 1.0 is required.
SAS Data Governance Server includes a SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction Language Pack of choice and a Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice. If not specified, by default, SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale for English (USA) will be included.
SAS Visual Process Orchestration Server is required when the SAS Data Quality Advanced Server site is a Windows 32-bit environment.
SAS Data Quality Server includes a SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice, the same as selected for SAS Data Quality Server. If not specified, by default, SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale for English (USA) will be included.
It is recommended that SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server be installed on a separate machine.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice.
Note: Both the Distributed Mode and Non-distributed Mode of SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server include a Non-distributed Mode SAS LASR Analytic Server.
However, only the Distributed Mode of SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes the Distributed Mode SAS LASR Analytic Server.
Note: Base SAS, SAS/ACCESS, and SAS Visual Analytics can either be installed on the head node of the commodity hardware (symmetric) or on separate hardware from the commodity hardware nodes (asymmetric). This architecture enables you to install the SAS Visual Analytics, Distributed Mode server-tier Base SAS components on Windows for x64 while working with the Linux for x64 LASR Grid.

SAS Data Governance contains the SAS data server SAS Data Remediation Data Server, which requires additional configuration.
The size of the data server is medium.
Note: When you configure your software, the size of each data server must be considered.
Before you install, update, or add products and solutions that result in the deployment of one or more SAS data servers to the same machine, kernel parameter changes for shared memory and semaphores are required. SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
To avoid deployment issues with your SAS software, make sure that Java 6 or higher is installed on the host before you begin the SAS deployment process.
It is recommended that SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Mid-Tier be installed on a separate machine.
Note: SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server is only supported for Non-distributed LASR on Microsoft Windows for x64. When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
SAS Data Governance Studio includes a SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction Language Pack of choice. Select the same language as the language that you selected for the SAS Data Governance Server. It also includes either a Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice or a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data of choice.
SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale components are included with the software order. SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data components must be downloaded from the SAS Downloads and Hotfixes site.
SAS Visual Analytics Mobile Clients (SAS Mobile BI) are available for the Apple iPad and Android tablets via free downloads from app stores.
