Add a Predefined Portlet to a Page

A predefined portlet can be one of the following types:
  • a portlet that you created previously
  • a public portlet that is available to all users
  • a portlet that has been shared with a group of users to which you belong
Predefined portlets include the following portlets:
  • your Bookmarks portlet
  • your Stored Process Alerts portlet
  • your Publication Channel Subscriptions portlet
  • several navigator portlets
To add a predefined portlet, follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to the page that you want to add the portlet to.
  2. Click Customizethen selectEdit Pagethen selectEdit Page Content.
  3. On the Edit Page Content page, click Add Portlets.
  4. On the Add Portlets page, click the Search tab.
  5. On the Search panel, enter Keywords to search for particular predefined portlets, or enter an asterisk (*) if you want to find all available portlets. Then click Search.
The search results panel displays a list of all of the portlets whose names, descriptions, or keywords contain the keywords that you entered. The list includes portlets that you have previously created, publicly available portlets, and portlets that have been shared with a group of users that you belong to.
  6. In the search results list, use either of the following procedures to add one or more portlets to your page:
    • To add portlets without previewing them, select the check box for each portlet that you want to add, and then click Add.
Note: If the search results list spans multiple pages, you can add portlets from only one results page at a time. Any selections on other pages are ignored.
    • To preview a portlet before adding it, click the portlet name. The portlet is displayed in the browser window.
After previewing the portlet, you can do either of the following:
      • add the portlet to your page by clicking Add This Portlet on the toolbar
      • click Search in the banner to return to the search results without adding the portlet.
When you are finished, click Done on the Search page.
  7. On the Edit Page Content page, specify where the new portlets are to appear on the page:
    • If you are using a column layout, you can move the portlets to different columns or to different positions within the columns.
    • If you are using a grid layout, specify where you want each portlet to appear by selecting the portlet names in the drop-down boxes for the appropriate cells.
For more information about specifying the layout of portlets, see Edit the Contents of a Page.
  8. Click OK. The original page is displayed, with the new portlet added.
